- Red onion: 1, finely grated for even distribution
- Garlic: 1 clove, mashed for intense flavor
- Egg: 1, helps bind ingredients together
- Breadcrumbs: 2/3 cup, maintains burger structure
- Fresh parsley: 2 tbsp, chopped for freshness
- Oregano: 1 tsp, adds Mediterranean flavor
- Olive oil: 4 tbsp, enhances juiciness
- Seasonings: 1-2 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper
- Feta cheese: 150-200g, for delicious stuffing
Instructions

- Rest the mixture: Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Prepare stuffing: Cut feta into small cubes and season with oregano. Optional: add chopped tomatoes and peppers.
- Shape burgers: Form thin, flat patties. Place stuffing in center of half the patties, cover with remaining patties. Seal edges carefully.
- Bake: Place on baking tray, cook at 200°C for 25 minutes, flipping once for even browning.
- Rest and serve: Let rest 5 minutes before serving with leafy salad dressed in olive oil, sea salt, and balsamic glaze.
Cooking Techniques
The secret to making these burgers super tasty is in the mixing! Work the meat mixture with your hands for a full 10 minutes – this helps all the lovely flavors blend together perfectly.
If you’re not keen on getting your hands messy, a hand mixer with dough hooks works great too. The resting time in the fridge is a game-changer – it lets all those Greek-inspired seasonings really sink into the meat.
Smart Substitutions
Don’t have all the exact ingredients? No problem! You can swap the feta for mozzarella or halloumi if you prefer.
The breadcrumbs can be regular or panko – both work great. If you’re watching your carbs, try crushed pork rinds instead of breadcrumbs.
For a lighter version, you can use turkey mince in place of beef, just add an extra tablespoon of olive oil to keep them juicy.
Serving Ideas
These Greek-style burgers are amazing on warm pita bread with tzatziki sauce. Add some crispy lettuce, sliced red onions, and fresh tomatoes for the perfect bite.
Want to keep it light? Serve them over a big Greek salad with extra feta, kalamata olives, and a drizzle of olive oil. Some crispy oven-baked potato wedges with oregano make a perfect side dish too!
Storage Tips
You can shape these burgers ahead of time and keep them in the fridge for up to 24 hours before cooking.
Once cooked, store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. To reheat, pop them in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10 minutes.
The burgers also freeze really well – wrap them individually and freeze for up to 3 months. Just thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

Ingredients
Burger Ingredients
- 500 g lean minced beef (18 ounces)
- 1 small ripped tomato grated
- 1 red onion grated
- 150-200 g feta cheese for stuffing (6 ounces)
Instructions
- To prepare the mixture for the stuffed hamburgers, add into a large bowl the minced beef along with the rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly with your hands. If the mixture is too sticky, add some more breadcrumbs (or some water/olive oil if it is too dry) till the mix is solid.

- Serve while still hot with a leafy salad sprinkled with some olive oil, sea salt and balsamic glaze. Enjoy!!!
