These baklava pouches are delicious on their own, but garnishing with just a little syrup, always gives a little something! To prepare the syrup add 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water and a little lemon zest in a small pot and bring to the boil. Boil for about 5 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved and the syrup has slightly thickened. As soon as the baklava pouches are ready, drizzle the hot syrup over the pastry.
